4TH EDITION OF NIPOLI EXPO, IBADAN
The fourth edition of the Nigerian Poultry and Livestock Expo took place at the International conference center, ICC, the University of Ibadan from 17 to 19 May 2022. The expo, themed ‘Promoting New Realms in Poultry and Livestock Business Development and Investment Opportunities in West Africa’, sought to, among other things, equip poultry and livestock farmers with up-to-the-minute developments and innovations taking place in their field, through lecture sessions that took place during the three-day expo and interaction with other farmers in the field.
The program also helps start-up farmers to connect with potential investors. Investors peopled the venue, scouting for investment opportunities, throughout the three-day event.
Our reporters, Oyebola and Gbeminiyi report that different exhibition stalls were set up to attract potential investors and to create awareness and publicity for agricultural products. The expo was well attended by over 15 countries from around the world.
The Chairman of AYTAV poultry equipment industries from Turkey spoke of the wide market that exists in Nigeria. Although he is aware of the instability in the country, he said it wouldn’t discourage his industry from spreading its market reach into Nigeria.
In an exclusive interview with the Pendulum Media, Dr. Aasa Joshua Olugbenga, a sales manager in DIFEM Agricultural Services Nigerian limited spoke of the essence of the event, the impact of the security challenges, and the high rate of inflation in Nigeria on livestock and poultry farming. He said, ”this is a forum for farmers and people majorly in agricultural services to come together and see how we can be of help to each other business-wise…”.
Dr. Aasa also highlighted the impact of the current challenges in Nigeria on agriculture which include insecurity and galloping inflation. He advised new and intending farmers not to shy away from events like this one, as it will bring them into the know on what is new in the field of Agriculture.
However, several exhibitionists gave positive remarks about their experience at the expo. They spoke of the exposure that the event has given their products and have high expectations about the subsequent positive impact it will have on the products’ patronage. The event concluded on Thursday 19, 2022, after three consecutive days of running. It was generally perceived as a success by the farmers and investors that were on the ground for the event.
