Again, Gunmen Attack Benue Communities, Kill 12
Benue communities which include
Anyiin, Ayilamo, Iorza, and Gbeji in Logo Local Government Areas were reportedly assailed in fresh attacks by gunmen alleged to be Fulani herdsmen.
The Pendulum Media gathered that the attack led to the deaths of 12 persons with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
This is following the renewed killing of three innocent persons which occurred last Monday till Sunday with a total number of nine lives lost.
Apart from invading houses, the attackers blocked Anyiin, Iorza, and Gbeji roads in broad daylight, killing more people and collecting various sums of money from helpless villagers; the eyewitness told Daily Post.
He added that the herdsmen carried out the attacks daily in the last two weeks without interruption from security operatives.
The source, however, called on the Benue State Government to provide adequate security for the defenseless people of Anyiin and its environs who are currently under severe attack.
Confirming the attacks while speaking with journalists, the Benue State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Sewuese Anene, said the command had deployed personnel to maintain peace in the troubled communities and called on affected people to remain calm.
