ABU Zaria Names Prof. Adamu Ahmed As New VC
Prof. Adamu Ahmed has been announced as the new vice -chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
According to reports, the announcement was made during the institution’s 209th special council meeting chaired by Mahmud Yayale Ahmed.
Prof. Ahmed whose appointment was announced on Wednesday, by the school’s public affairs directorate was picked by the institution’s Governing Council.
Ahmed teaches at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the institution.
He was a one-time Director of the institution’s Directorate of University Advancement; Prof. Ahmed is the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.
ABU’s Public Affairs directorate reads:
“Prof Ahmed’s appointment was announced at 6:15 am today (Wednesday, 5th February, 2025) during the 209th (Special) Council meeting presided over by its Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR,” the statement by
Prof Ahmed succeeds Prof. Kabiru Bala as the VC of ABU.
