China Alleges US as “World’s Largest Surveillance Habitual Offender”

“This is the latest example of China scrambling to do damage control…”-Adrienne, Spokeswoman NSC

Wang Wenbin, spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has described the United States of America as the “World’s Largest habitual offender and surveillance empire”

The spokesperson, Wengbin made this known while accusing the United States of consistently abusing its technology by carrying out “indiscriminate wiretapping” and “thefts of secrets all over the world”

The above accusation is coming after the US shot down a Chinese balloon that was spotted traveling across the continental US, CNN reports.

Speaking at a regular news conference, on Monday, Mr. Wengbin, in defense, explained that it is a common activity for the US balloons to “illegally” enter other countries’ airspace with its allies including

CNN, however, reports that it is unclear why China did not report the US earlier of its intrusion into other territories, especially into hers, or maybe, China is just applying “damage control” as pointed out by the White House which had flatly denied the allegations

In addition, Wang did not only accuse the US of flying high-altitude balloons which were claimed to have crossed China’s airspace more than 10 times but also said the US is guilty of sending warships and planes to carry out close-range reconnaissance against China

“This is the latest example of China scrambling to do damage control. It has repeatedly and wrongly claimed the surveillance balloon it sent over the US was a weather balloon and has failed to offer any credible explanation for its intrusion into our air space, the airspace of others,” Adrienne Watson, Spokeswoman, National Security Council, for The White House, stated on Twitter.
