Ember Months: Amotekun Begins Inter-Border Patrol of Southwest States
To prevent crime during the holiday season, the Western Nigerian Security Network, also known by the code name Amotekun, started inter-border patrol on Friday.
Western Nigerian Security Network Agency officers are now taking part in the exercise between the states of Ondo and Osun while Ekiti, Ogun, and Oyo states would be added later
This effort, known as “Operation Gbale Gbako,” seeks to maintain sanity at home, in the woods, on the roads, in the sea, and everywhere else in the Southwest part of this country.
When the border patrol exercise was launched in the border town of Owena, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the Chairman of Southwest Amotekun Commanders and the Amotekun Commander of Ondo State, explained that the operation’s goal is to make sure that the Southwest Zone and its Borders could celebrate Christmas and the New Year without any issues.
Chief Adeleye, who also acts as the Governor of Ondo state’s special advisor on security matters, assured motorists and residents that they will be safe before, during, and after the holiday season.
Retired Brigadier General Aderounbi, the Amotekun Commander in Osun State, said the community should work with the security organization and ensure that this time, another enormous success is achieved to boost security for people’s lives and property in the Southwest region.
