2025: Kano Gov Yusuf Signs N719.8bn Budget Into Law

The Governor of Kano State, Kabir Yusuf has on Tuesday, signed N719.8 billion state budget for 2025 into law.
Governor Yusuf signed the budget at the Government House with promises to utilise the state’s funds in accordance with global best practices of public financial management.
Part of the focus of the budget tagged “Budget of Hope, Human Capital, and Economic Development” include education, infrastructure and human capital development, with 64 per cent allocated to capital expenditure and 36 per cent to recurrent expenditure.
Residents of Kano State were then assured that the budget would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of the populace.
Governor Yusuf said, “I want to guarantee that allocating 64 per cent of the budget to capital projects and 36 per cent to recurrent expenditure will positively impact the lives of the citizens.
“The total budget estimate that has been ratified today amounts to N719.8 billion, with 64 per cent allocated to capital projects, totalling N457 billion and recurrent expenditure, totalling N262.6 billion.
“Today, we witnessed the ratification of the 2025 budget, which was presented to the Kano State House of Assembly a few months ago,”.
He also expressed gratitude to the speaker of the assembly and the members for their dedication to ensuring that the budget became a reality.
