2023 Elections: Makinde Takes Campaign to Oke Ogun, Promises to Link Old Irepo, Ifedapo Roads

Oyo Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Monday declared he will enhance the economic viability of the area by linking the old Irepo and old Ifedapo axis together.

Makinde who stated this during his campaign at Irepo Local Government Area, Oke Ogun praised his deputy, Alhaji Bayo Lawal as a trustworthy man, whom he tagged as a good representative of the good people of Oke-Ogun and Kisi in particular.

The state governor while addressing the non-indigenous resident at Sooro Village, promises to implement Omituntun 2.0, which he said would center on sustainable development and consolidation of gains already recorded by the administration under Omituntun 1.0.

He, however, charged residents of the council to elect candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the National Assembly, governorship, and State House of Assembly elections, noting that his administration has achieved quite a lot in the last 44 months.”

“In our next administration, economically, the old Irepo and old Ifedapo will be closely linked together. This is the only place we have started intra-zonal linkage. In all other places, we have been linking one zone to another because of the economy of Saki which we want to turn into a major economic hub.”

Also, representatives of the traditional council, and religious and community leaders who were present at the event in their remarks applauded Governor Makinde for choosing one of the Children of the Kishi to be the deputy governor, pledging to work for the success of his second term bid.
