2023 Elections: INEC Commences PVCs Distribution at Ward Levels
In preparations for the 2023 elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to registrants at the 8,809 electoral wards across Nigeria.
INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye on Thursday mentioned in a statement that the commission is set to devolve the PVC collections to the 8,809 Registration Areas/Wards from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th January 2023.
He encouraged all valid registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to utilize the moment and go for their Permanent Voters’ Cards as the devolution of the PVCs commences today.
Mr. Okoye explained that after the 15th of January 2023, the exercise will revert to the Local Government Offices of the Commission until the 22nd of January 2023.
“..all eligible and valid registrants can collect their PVCs from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm daily, including Saturdays and Sundays.” He added
For those who applied for the replacement of lost, damaged, or defaced PVCs, Okoye said, they can collect their PVCs at the wards during the same period.
Moreover, the commissioner revealed that the PVCs of those who applied for transfer are also ready for collection in the local governments and registration areas where they intend to vote and not in the state or local government where they carried out the transfer
